Flood season starts early for this year. The no-electricity season isn’t over yet, here come another flood season. It’s been many years that the sewage system in Phnom Penh cannot cope with the volume of rain water fall from the sky. Yet we see no improvement in dealing with this problem.

A heavy rainfall yesterday afternoon left many streets and home in Phnom Penh flooded. Even worse, it makes the road traffic stand still, and many vehicles damaged by the flood. All of these damages and problems would costs us hundred of thousand US dollar, if only we are able to calculate this damage in dollar. The cost of petrol wasted in the traffic jam, the cost of damages to the vehicles by flood, and countless other problems created by flood.

What about solution? Yes! the School of Phnom Penh City (SALA KRONG) ;-) has done so much to deal with this problem. One of the most interesting action by the School of Phnom Penh City is filling up more lakes. (Argument: Filling up lakes has nothing to do with flood, it is the rain that cause flood, it not their fault)

In the end, I think that you should take it that way, be prepare for more flood coming soon. If only a few hours of rain could hit the city this hard, what happen if there is a several hours of rain fall? I guess, every one of us should sell out moto, car, and buy a speed boat, or jet ski. Don’t forget to wash your self when you’re home, because the water is dirty.

ENJOY YOUR FLOOD SEASON!

You have a good sense to coin the word “School of Phnom Penh City”. But the school has not filled the lakes, they just gives the green signal to some companies to develop Phnom Penh into what we witnessed yesterday. hehe The school master even got a award for his achievements. loz…

According to Cambodia Daily this morning, we have to wait until march 2010 for the Sewage system construction to finish. Then, there is no guaranty there is no more flood, some part of town still vulnerable to flood.

All of you speaking only about the bad point of the management of the sewage system in PP, but you forget one thing. When flooded, the street became swimming pool. Did you see that? The advantage is that many children can swim freely in the street pool. Did you see children really swim? They enjoy swimming. But MUM mum should wash their children after they swim in the our street pool. It also creates job for some young men who help to push the vehicles out of the street swimming pool. How many $$$ they would make in a flood? Oh, business ! Has ha …
