I’ve been writing alot about internet cost in Cambodia. Unlimited internet in Cambodia is not cheap by my standard. But here is another affordable one from Metfone.

If you’re lucky enough to live where there is Mefone’s DSL cable nearby. You can get unlimited internet at your home for $35 at a very reasonable speed. The promised speed is 128kbps which is not high, but I did a test on my friend’s computer it is acceptable, except when you download.

If using download manager you can get speed up 20KBPS easily, but the problem is when you download everyone else in the network slow.

I just get connected this month with $35 ADSL unlimited package. Wow, that’s a great deal with metfone. The everage of download speed is 27KBps. I tried to test the speed with http://www.bandwidthtest.co.uk and the actual speed is over 220kbps. It’s very cheap if we compare with other comapny like CITYLINK, $149 with 128kbps unlimited.

how is that possible? the maximum speed you get from 128kbps package is 16KB per second. And normally, you can’t get near the maximum as more and more users use the network during peak hours.

i would think with 128kbps you would be receiving 128 kilobytes per second? could you explain why you only get 16kbps.
Im planning to get internet with EZECOM, they have an unlimited lifestyle plan for $69, 128kbps peak and 512kbps at off-peak. http://www.ezecom.com.kh/lifestyle-package. They also have a night package for the same price but you get 256kbps during peak but only have 3000MB data, and then 512kbps off peak unlimited data.

Well 128kbps is Kilo bit per second. What you get is kilobyte per second. there are 8 bit in every byte. So 128kbps/8=16kbyte per second.
