Despite the effort to make blogging simple, it is still a complicated process. First you have to write a blog post off-line in word processing application such as Microsoft Word. Then you copy the text and paste in the writing panel of WordPress blog. Then you realize the text doesn’t appear correctly, because of the styling difference between Microsoft Word and your blog theme.
Last night after published one new post, my blog suddenly went blank. First, I thought that it was the problem with the server. But other sites on the same server still work. So there must be a problem with my WordPress installation. If only it displays some error message, I would have known what went wrong. But this time it was just blank screen. Here’s what I’ve done to bring it back online, delete plugins and themes one by one, and test the website. I came back online when there’s nothing left in themes and plugins directories.
Now I am uploading new themes plugins.
Microsoft has taken another major step to help improve the experience of bloggers. I am lucky that my computer meets the system requirements to run Microsoft Office 2007. One of the new features I like is the ability to publish blog from Microsoft Word, from now on I don’t have login to my blog, write the entries and publish. With Microsoft Word 2007 I can write my post and simply push the publish button, and then the new post is available online. Here’s how to blog from Microsoft Word:
- At the upper left corner of Microsoft Word window there is a button label the logo of Microsoft Office. Click on that button
- Move the cursor down, you’ll see a publish option,
- Move the cursor over the publish option, you’ll have the blog
- Click on blog, new window will be opened; from there you’ll have the menu and option for set up your blog account.
This post is published using Microsoft Word. It’s easier because you don’t have to wait for the webpage to be fully loaded before you can start to write. You should give it a try too
My blog contents have been erased from my site, the cause of the problem is not known, whether it was a cracker’s attack or the technical problem at my host provider. There are several website shared the same sever but the only one affected is mine. I am putting all of my available effort to bring the contents back online ASAP. I have some back up of my website in Microsoft Word format, I hope to restore them, unfortunately there are some content that I do not have a back up copy.
My friends-visitors please check back later.
